Greer Medical, Inc. Receives Trademark on Sapphire Suction Reservoir™- The newest in its line of surgical and post-surgical devices (printable version)

Santa Barbara, CA- Greer Medical, Inc. has been awarded a trademark for its Sapphire Suction Reservoir™ by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. This product complements Greer Medical's current SeromaCath® Wound Drainage System.

Developed by Greer Medical, Inc., the Sapphire Suction Reservoir™ has a wide variety of applications in post-operative drainage procedures where continuous drainage against gravity is necessary. Closed system drainage reduces the possibility of fluid contamination and allows for easy visual examination of the contents by patient and physician.

The Sapphire Suction Reservoir™ has been designed to provide better suction capabilities than other suction bulbs on the market and it incorporates an anti-reflux valve to help prevent reflux of fluid. The Sapphire is designed with markers at 25, 50, 75 and 100cc to allow measurement of the fluid in the reservoir. Unlike other suction bulbs, Greer's Sapphire Suction Reservoir™ has a strap with a stainless steel clip, which allows it to be attached conveniently and discreetly to the patient's gown or clothing.
